Adenosine-5-Monophosphate AMP-5 (Adenosine-5-monophosphate) is a potent natural vasodilator that increases blood circulation to both skeletal and cardiac muscle. It can be used in anticipation of severe cardiac load in athletic animals or for myocardial oxygen deficit. Another common use is in situations where increased blood perfusion to lower legs and feet is required (laminitis, lower leg wounds).

Arginine Hydrochloride is a conditionally essential amino acid in humans and rodents, as it may be required depending on the health status or life cycle of the individual. Arginine is a potent nitric oxide enhancer and causes vasodilation of both smooth and skeletal muscles. It is often used in cases of colic to help reduce spasms and ischemia of the vascular areas of the intestines. It also works well to dilate the vessels of the skeletal muscles, thus providing more blood flow. Arginine works well in Tying-up horses, camels, and dogs. The vasodilation properties are also extremely useful in “bleeders” because it reduces resistance to the blood flow through the lungs.

Lysine Hydrochloride is an amino acid and the only one for which a requirement in the horse has been established by the NRC (National Research Council). It is an essential amino acid, meaning it must be provided in the diet since the body cannot create enough of its own. Lysine is also a limiting amino acid. This means if it is not present in adequate amounts it limits the body’s ability to make protein. Lysine is required for all ages and uses of horses, camels, and dogs, but it is especially important in performance animals, young growing animals, and senior animals.

Glycine is an amino acid, or a building block for protein and protects the horses against muscle loss also one of three amino acids that the horse’s body uses to make a compound called creatine. Creatine provides horses’ muscles with energy to perform quick, short bursts of activity, such as racing and jumping.

Nicotinic Acid (or Niacin) is another name for vitamin B3, which is 1 of 8 B vitamins needed by the body to break down fats and proteins and to convert carbohydrates into energy. The Niacin family also plays an important role in energy production and the synthesis of many important compounds including proteins, fats, and DNA. There are two other forms of niacin, nicotinamide (or niacinamide) and inositol hexanicotinate, which serve as sources of vitamin B3. While these terms are often used interchangeably, there are some differences in the activity of the different forms. Niacin is used in a wide range of conditions in people based on its cell-protecting effects especially in blood vessels, nerve tissue, the digestive system, and skin.

Magnesium Aspartate is the chelated magnesium salt of aspartic acid, it is a mineral supplement. This form of magnesium supplementation has increased bioavailability compared to oxide and citrate. Magnesium is very important for the normal functioning of cells, nerves, muscles, bones, and the heart. Usually, a well-balanced diet provides normal blood levels of magnesium.

Potassium Aspartate is the chelated potassium salt of aspartic acid, it is a mineral supplement. Potassium (given the symbol “K”) is one of the macro minerals that your animals need, especially sport ones. It is one of the most important minerals throughout the body. As the major intracellular cation (an ion with a positive charge that is found inside cells), it plays a huge role in maintaining acid-base balance. It is also essential in maintaining osmotic balance…or the amount of water that is inside cells. However, its biggest job is to be involved in skeletal muscle excitability through potassium ion channels. Approximately 75% of this mineral in the equine body is found in the skeletal muscle.

Sodium selenite is the inorganic compound formula. Sodium selenite usually is prepared by the reaction of selenium dioxide with sodium hydroxide. Sodium Selenite is an inorganic form of the trace element selenium with potential antineoplastic activity. Selenium, administered in the form of sodium selenite, is reduced to hydrogen selenide (H2Se) in the presence of glutathione (GSH) and subsequently generates superoxide radicals upon reaction with oxygen. Selenium is a trace mineral that partners with Vitamin E in the body’s antioxidant defense system to trap free radicals produced by exercise, illness, and etc. Selenium and vitamin E supplementation have been used in muscle disorders (tying-up) in some performance animals.

Cyanocobalamin Is a manufactured form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is the “generic descriptor” name for any vitamer of vitamin B12. Because humans and animals can convert cyanocobalamin to any one of the active vitamin B12 compounds. Vitamin B12 is important for growth, cell reproduction, blood formation, protein and tissue synthesis, a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, and a stimulant for energizing the body. Cyanocobalamin is used for vitamin B12 deficiency in humans and animals with pernicious anemia and other conditions.

Dosage and Administration:

Administer 20 ml by Slow IV for 450 kg animal 4-6 hours prior to an event.

For best results, administer 20ml Slow IV 24 hours prior to an event followed by 20 ml Slow IV 4 hours prior to an event.
