What is Inner Recovery
Product Description:
Inner RecoveryTM is a unique pre and post-competition product for aerobic metabolism and detoxifier to lead to the development of performance efficiency in horses.
Inner RecoveryTM is a powerful hepatoprotector, antioxidant, and detoxifier
to help increase liver glycogen reserves and makes your horse’s aerobic metabolism run more efficiently.
Active Ingredient:
Thioctic acid ……………………………………………………………………………………………. 2 mg/ml
Vitamin B1 ……………………………………………………………………………………………… 10 mg/ml
N-acetyl-DL-methionine ………………………………………………………………………… 45 mg/ml
DL-methionine ………………………………………………………………………………………. 15 mg/ml
Sorbitol …………………………………………………………………………………………………… 210 mg/ml
How It Works:
The composition of Inner RecoveryTM is formulated specifically to support aerobic metabolism and detoxifier, pre-post competitions. The horse’s liver maintains a crucial role in digestive processes and is chiefly involved in regulating nutrient distribution. Nutrients absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract must pass through the liver via the portal circulation. Serving as a clearinghouse of sorts, the liver assigns nutrients to essential roles. Some are metabolized for energy, transformed to other nutrient classes, or sent to peripheral tissues, and others are stored in the liver for future use. The liver plays a vital role in maintaining consistent blood levels of nutrients between feedings. The profile of amino acids and an array of substrates combined in Inner RecoveryTM provides the healthy horse’s liver function and also helps to the gastrointestinal tract function that results in the horse’s body system running more efficiently; And Thioctic acid is a covalently attached cofactor essential for the activity of 2-oxoacid dehydrogenases and the glycine cleavage system.
In the absence of Thioctic acid modification, the dehydrogenases are inactive, and aerobic metabolism is blocked.

Thioctic acid, also known as α-lipoic acid, alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), and Lipoic acid (LA) is an organosulfur compound derived from caprylic acid (octanoic acid). Thioctic acid is a natural ingredient in the body, and it is a strong antioxidant that helps lower the level of liver enzymes and is an essential ingredient for the proper functioning of aerobic metabolism. The horse’s body produces thioctic acid in small amounts. To maximize aerobic performance, it is important to have a balanced amount of thioctic acid among the levels of liver enzymes. Thioctic acid also has been found to elevate the level of glutathione and reactive oxidants.
Vitamin B1, also called thiamine or thiamin, is one of 8 B vitamins. Vitamin B1 helps the body convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which the body uses to produce energy. It also helps maintain proper nerve function.
N-acetyl-DL-methionine, or N-Acetylmethionine, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as N-acyl-alpha amino acids. N-acyl-alpha amino acids are compounds containing an alpha-amino acid that bears an acyl group at its terminal nitrogen atom.
DL-methionine, is an essential amino acid. This means that it must be obtained through the diet in adequate quantities to meet the horse’s body’s needs, meaning the horse cannot manufacture it himself. DL-methionine is obtained by the hydrolysis of protein by pancreatic enzymes during digestion. Methionine serves many key functions in the body, including support for connective tissue, liver function and detoxification, and strong hoof tissue. Methionine is a Sulfur-containing amino acid, a precursor to another Sulfur amino acid, Cysteine. Cysteine is present in high concentrations in the hoof wall, and bonds between the Sulfur molecules contribute to hoof strength. It is also the precursor for Taurine, which is essential for heart health, and L-Carnitine, a molecule that carries fats into the mitochondria to be burned as fuel.
Sorbitol, is a type of carbohydrate called sugar alcohol, or polyol. Sorbitol occurs naturally in a variety of fruits (e.g., apples). Sorbitol improves intestinal motility, removes inflammation in the liver/kidneys, cleanses the body of toxic substances, helps the gastrointestinal tract, and fights itching or peeling of the skin.
