How It Works:

Horse sweat is something we are all familiar with as horse lovers – nothing like having your horse come back from a workout with a drenched saddle pad, shaving cream foam between the hind legs, and that sweet smell. Sweat will foam as a result of friction foaming up the latherin present (Latherin is a hydrophobic protein found in equines). It is NOT a sign that the horse is OVERWORKED – it only means that latherin is doing its job. All horses sweat and this sweat contains water, electrolytes and amino acids. Whether you look at an elite event horse cross-country day, or a riding club horse travelling to and from a local dressage show, these horses have one thing in common – they will both sweat and will consequently both lose electrolytes, amino acids and energy though in varying amounts.

Well over half of the horses’ weight is made up of body fluids.

Electrolytes are common minerals that work together to maintain physiological equilibrium in active horses and help the horse’s body maintain normal fluid levels and organ function. A major challenge is to maintain Fluid and Electrolyte Balance (FEB) in the body.

On the other hand, sweating resulting as the horse’s temperature rises and about 75-80% of the energy of muscle contraction is released as heat. Then the horses will lose more energy during sweating.

What you should know:

Indications:  

For use by or under the direction of a registered veterinarian for:

Dosage and Administration:

Exercise:

Recommended dosage for a 450 kg horse is one full tube orally 4-6 hours before performance.

Show:

Make sure ElectroPower Plus^TM is fed for 2-3 days following a competition to ensure a full recovery and for best results, administer one tube orally 12 hours prior to an event followed by one tube 4 hours prior to the event.

The dose may be repeated during the exercise or after it, according to the veterinarian’s discretion.

You can repeat administration every 12 hours. Offer ElectroPower Plus^TM before, during and after hard work for enhanced recovery

The animal should have access to abundant, clean and fresh water.
